    Qualifications are available in a variety of locations across Queensland.

    RII30115 Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations

    Pro-Lift Training & Assessment Services offers Certificate 3 Guarantee funding for RII30115 Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations.

    What is Certificate 3 Guarantee Funding?

    Certificate 3 Guarantee funding provides eligible Queenslanders access to Government subsidies training funded by the Queensland Government. the Certificate 3 Guarantee subsidy is paid directly to Pro-Lift Training & Assessment Services to reduce the cost of the fees for the student.

    Are you Eligible?

    The Student must:

    * not hold or be currently enrolled in a Certificate III or higher qualification
    *be 15 years or older
    *have finished secondary school or left school
    *be a Queensland resident - an Australian citizen or permanent resident living in Queensland, or a New Zealand Citizen permanently residing in Queensland.

    Employment status does not affect your eligibility nor is there a minimum education requirement.

    *Eligible students must understand that the entitlement under Certificate 3 Guarantee is for one Government subsidised training place in a funded Certificate III qualification. It is very important that students take the time to consider and compare your training options and costs, before signing and enrolling or committing to a course of study which will use your entitlement.

    How much does it cost? 

    Student Co-Contribution fees for eligible students:
    *Concessional $20
    *Non-concessional $40

    Delivery Modes: 

    Blended learning through a combination of classroom based theory, hands on practical components and self paced homework.

    Training Locations: 

    Training is delivered in multiple locations including, but not limited to Cairns, Mareeba, Atherton, Mossman, and Innisfail. For training in other locations, please contact us.

    Course Requirements:

    This certificate III qualification comprises of 13 units of competency. This is made up of 3 core units and 10 elective units.

    CORE UNITS (required)

    RIIENV201D - Identify and assess environmental and heritage concerns

    RIIRIS301D - Apply risk management processes

    RIIWHS201D - Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures

     

    ELECTIVE UNITS

    GROUP A  (1 unit must be chosen)

    RIICOM301D - Communicate information

     

    GROUP B (1 unit must be chosen)

    RIIGOV201D - Comply with site work processes/procedures

     

    GROUP C (at least 3 units must be chosen)

    RIISAM202D - Isolate and access plant

    RIISAM301E - Test operational functions of vehicles and equipment

    RIIMEX302D - Asses ground conditions

     

    GROUP D (no more than 3 units may be chosen)

    RIIHAN307D - Operate a vehicle loading crane

    RIIERR302D - Respond to local emergencies and incidents

    RIIHAN301D - Operate elevating work platform

     

    ADDITIONAL UNITS (no more than 2 units may be chosen)

    TLILIC2001 - Licence to operate a forklift truck

    CPCCLDG3001A - Licence to perform dogging

    TLILIC2005A - Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11m or more)

    CPCCLSF2001A- Licence to erect, alter, dismantle scaffolding basic level

    RIIWHS204D - Work safely at heights

    RIIWHS202D - Enter and work in confined spaces

    Trainees must be 18 years old to sit the High Risk Work Licence Forklift assessment. Fees are payable by the student to Workplace Health and Safety to obtain the High Risk Licence. More information on this can be found by clicking here.

    Course Duration:

    The Certificate III qualification takes 5 to 6 weeks to complete.  Please contact us for course start dates in your preferred location. Training commences at 8am each day until 4pm, Monday to Friday. For students who are working full time and wish to study, we offer weekend training.

    What to bring to class:

    Enclosed shoes and sun smart clothing (no singlets) is essential.

    Running short on time?

    If you don't have a lot of time to spare and just need one or two units to get you going, you can enrol in single unit courses. Single unit courses are not funded and full course fees are payable. Check out our single unit courses here.
